Education is a large component in therapy.
One of my favorite areas of education is discussing how the brain is not in a box, all alone. It's not just part of the system, it's running the body's systems.
Thoughts affect chemistry of the body.
Scared? Hello adrenaline. Happy? Hello serotonin. Stressed? Hello cortisol. Love? Hello oxytocin.
I prefer a holistic approach in therapy. It all matters. And that's why I'll continue to encourage learning from qualified persons, to know about your brain, your body, your feelings and your actions.
Sometimes things may go a bit sideways in how the brain operates, the feelings produced,and the thoughts that may surface. Reach out for support. And know there are counselors and therapists, all with areas of expertise, that can also be of support and help.
